Can you get false positive with a swab

I had a bleeding fir three months and had sex and had a small lesion from intercourse the Dr said it was a fungal infection she took a swab but didnt send it.

I returned two weeks later and swabbed a small mark. I got my results today and negative 1 and positive 2. But the sore never blistered or anything.

Can the swabs be incorrect?

a swab cant detect something that isnt there. so I think the result is accurate. you can get a false negative if the sore was swabbed too late, but you cant get a false positive with a swab. not to my knowledge
