Several months ago I had a lot of cracking in my hip that needs replacement as of late I hear no cracking but more pain. I was wondering I'm I losing mote bone and that bond that I might be losing can it be going down into my leg which is causing more pain around my ankles and foot
Not exactly sure what your main issue is but consult with your doctor on this issue.
You can get referred pain from your hip, into your knee, shin and ankle and even your back, yes bone round the head of femure can deteriorate while you wait for your hip replacement which will cause more pain as it progresses.
Go back to your Dr and ask how long you will have to wait, explain how bad it's becoming.
Try using ice on it either with frozen flannels or an ice pad, hope you get sorted soon
Note too sure jonesy if you mean can the loose bone go down to your ankles, on ypthat I would say no but if you mean can pain be tranferred down the leg, normally the knee hurts with hip problems. Sorry if I mis-understood your question.
Have u got a bone problem? U need to see a doctor, get Xray etc, I also on list for FHR & was bone on bone but they are now fusing & i in lot less pain & don't need cane, U have made think will i end up in your state, as i wonder what would happen if i just leave my hip alone?? I am going to ask my specialist about that soon. I really not keen on having a metal rod down my leg, my Aunty did & she has pains from it, guess it becomes a no choice Op.eventually & most people want it done, Hope u find out soon, Gd luck
Thanks. I also wanted to know the bone that I'm losing from the hip problem can it go into my leg and cause problems. I'm starting to have pain in my leg and foot.
Thank you Sooo much
I was just wondering around the femur as it deteriorates what happened to the loose bone I used to have cracking but I don't have cracking anymore but more pain. Some of the pain is in my ankle and my foot can this be for my hip problem?
What tends to happen jonesy is the cartlidge wears away over time and you are then left with is bone rubbing on bone which in turn causes more pain. The bone does not come away and move down to the ankle/feet. That pain could be from the pain in your hip and the way you compensate when walking.
Hi no the body will absorb the bone as it wears its not like some prosthetic hip replacement that grind down and cannot be absorbed by the body so it ends up in the blood stream, that is rare though, so it's not going to drop down into your leg but as I said the pain you are suffering is referred from your hip if they are saying it's disintegrating due to either osteoarthritis or AVN go see your doctor and I am sure they will give you pain relief and may be pull your op to faster.
Thanks
