Cancelled Op now going ahead,1 question regarding site of pain

Hellooo All, hopefully my op should go ahead on the 11th July after being cancelled on the 27th June, only a 2 week wait so not bad at all. I have severe OAP of both hips and I am down to zero mobility I'm having the Left Hip replaced this time with the Right to follow 3 months later, my question is having been an avid follower of this forum (it's better than Martine Cole) all my pain is deep in the groin only where as most people on here have groin, thigh, outside hip pain etc, is there any body else that has grion only as I'm concerned that this could be referred pain from a spinal problem I have. Thank you in advance for any help. X

Hi Ann

Firstly good luck with your op.

Before my RHR I had severe groin pain internal and external. After my op ..gone!!!

For information I am 1 year post op had my review and x ray last Monday and all good. Consultant doesn't want to see me for 4 years!

Good luck and please let us all know how you progress x

Thank you Julie, I'm just soo looking forward to some mobility. Hope all continues to go well for you. X

Hi Ann , much luck with your operation. I too have an odd place for pain .. in my left knee area only... but have severe osteoarthritis in my left hip and my knee X-rays & MRI show that my knees are great. I went to a psysiatrist to figure out where the pain in my knee was coming from & he said my left hip, and my surgeon agreed so I have surgery scheduled for Sept. I also have some osteoarthritis in my back and my biggest fear, like you, is that the pain in my knee is being referred from my back not my hip & that I will have the hip surgery (which I need anyway) & will still have horrible knee pain. I guess one thing at a time...I'm hoping that my pain will be gone & I'm able to walk again without pain. I wish you all the best for a great outcome.

Thank you Merilee, I have a severe spinal problem part of which is OA at the Base of my spine so I will keep you updated on my progress, if I only get 25% pain relief I will be elated. Hope all goes to plan for you x

dear anne,

Happy to read that you have your surgery date soon ..

like so many otheres, I had severe groin pain and pain in upper thigh and around hip joint -

I hope your surgeon will be able to give you more information regarding your spine -

Just a question : do you trust your surgeon? if there is any doubt  maybe you can have a second opinion to make sure that this is the right way of action ...

I am so sorry that you are in so much pain and have lost all mobility -

big warm hug and let us know how you are getting on, okay

renee

Well hello again Renee, the spinal surgeon was fab he did ct and mri scans plus x rays he also held a MDT meeting with 6 other surgeon's and it was decided it's to high risk to operate on my spine soo after extensive Xrays and procedures which show severe OAP on my hips it's been decided to go ahead and operate I have been advised that this will not be the answer to my prayers as my back will continue to give new problems but I am forever optimistic that with the hip pain taken care of it can cope with the rest, I'll keep you updated Renee on that one. Thank you so much for responding. X

hi ann,

Yes, stay positive and if possible, delete surgeon's remark -

visualization might help you a little, Ann - just see your hips and spine and send them light and see them getting healthier and sronger -

your body and cells are listening to your every thought ...

that is why being kind to your self is important ..

end of lecture -

angel blessings
