Went doctors again yesterday complaining of chest pains. Refused ECG (3rd time). Done extensive tests on heart in January and all was perfect. Less chance than average of developing an arythmia. She listened to heart, took blood pressure and pulse and again said all was perfect. Woke up this morning trying to be positive and bang, my wrist, lower arm and neck is in pain (left side) why is this happening to me. I know I sit very tensed on my left side at work so it could easily be that but now I have 10'hours of work ahead of me whilst worrying about having a heart attack 25yo male, this isn't life. I don't know what else to do. Having CBT that's not helping. Refused diazepam yesterday. What exactly am I paying my taxes and NI for??
Hi Les you said it yourself you tense that side when you are working.You are not having a heart attack your mind latches on to a thought that terrifies you and the symptoms increase and on and on it goes lf CBT isn't working as them to try another therapy.Also take some control yourself learn breathing techniques to reduce anxiety, meditation , mindfulness etc all on YouTube.
I know your pain, i am going through the same. Sensation of numbness in my hands, neck pain, headaches, dizziness, tightness of the chest, difficulty taking deep breaths, there are times when i cant cope anymore. I have been to the ER at least 6 times since Feb. Ive seen several drs aside from my primary just to get second opinion, multiple test and specialist. Blood work, xrays, im seeing a therapist, im doing acupuncture, yoga and meditation. All test clear, and nothing is helping. Im better than i was a few months ago but i cant remember when i last felt normal. I feel like im going to end up in an institution.
We arent made to be stressed out all the time. The body is reacting to the fight or flight and it is too much so then it is trying to protect itself. Its all the steess hormones and chemicals running a muck. So either you figure out a way to self calm via therapy of some sort, biofeedback or you get a lot of very weird stmroms. Cause and effect. Stress chemicals and adrenaline have a cause and effect on the body. There is way way too much hyoe of fear based heart attacks and such and way too little talk about stress and anxiety in the body. If they brainwashed you differently you would accept amd believe your anxiety is causing your symptoms. Then it would easier to allow it to run through you without the added fear that it is an organ in danger. But because of our lovely fear based world and stigma on anxiety disorders many spend their time chasing their tales.
you want to spend you money better seek out biofeedback or dbt not cbt or better therapist. Science hasnt caught up woth all this at all. They can run tests to clear you of a heart condition. So that can be ruled out. But i think you already know its not a heart condtion just dont know how to stop the aymptoms. Over time accepting all this and learning not to fear it will help a lot. These symptoms all change up over time anyway.
as time goes on and this becomes even more ramoant maybe the media will start discussing it as much as the pharmaceutical push their fears and pills and altered foods on everyone,
