Can’t help reading and watching about epilepsy I need help

the title suggests what ive been going through for years.

i have just read about a man who was healthy all his life and one day out of the blue he was watching tv and next moment he found himself with ambulance around him as he had a tonic clonic seizure. 6 months later he had it again and developed epilepsy out of the blue all scans were clear.

i am so scared for years i have had deja vu, weird vision and panic from nowhere, weird random memory flashbacks and loads of other head and brain weird symptoms.

i am scared so much of epilepsy even the word seizures give me chills.

what can i do every day every second or minute i think i am going to have a fit

do you have too much idle time? That could be part of the reason why you’re constantly watching these videos.
The truth is, anyone of us could drop dead tomorrow, get in a car accident, have a stroke, and on an on. that is just how life works. we don’t have control over everything in our lives, but we can choose our mental attitude. And that would be either a defeatist or a survivor.
I chose to live every day to the fullest because worry and fear get me nowhere. , Except miserable in wasting my days.
what you are doing by constantly watching these videos is forming negative grooves in your brain where your thoughts will automatically go because you’re cementing these fear ridden, negative thoughts in the brain.
the more you do this the harder it will be to reverse it and become more positive.
once again, you need to speak with a therapist who can help you with this. Otherwise it will not get any better. take care

i understand jan but the therapist cant get rid of my physical symptoms like

deja vu, weird vision and many more weird brain symptoms etc…

they cant get rid of them, but they can show you how to manage them better.
all I know is I finally got sick and tired of daily fear, symptoms, anxiety. I gave it all up and told myself whatever happens happens., I started listening to motivational talks on YouTube, especially David Goggins , former navy seal Who had a horrible childhood and through his determination not to be a victim he’s accomplished amazing things. an amazing speaker that tells it like it is. his lessons are not just for people with bad childhoods, it’s for anybody going through major issues.
anyway , with the change in attitude, I feel a lot better and nothing bad ever happened after giving it up. I think my brain probably thanks me.
I do know what your symptoms feel like as mine started in my 20s. sure, I get occasional little symptoms here in there but it’s a far cry from how I felt in the past.!

when I say I gave it up, I mean I completely stopped worrying about everything, symptoms, what if thinking, etc.

I had so many different symptoms at the height of my anxiety and whilst they weren’t epilepsy related (mainly pins/needles in face, numbness, adrenaline feeling in arms, pains and aches, dizzy spells, nausea) they only started to reduce when i accepted them as anxiety.

Much as Jan had said, it’s about managing and accepting the symptoms you have. They won’t go away straight away (possibly you’ll manage it for life, i could not say. each person is different), but if you’ve seen the doctors about hour symptoms more times than you can count on both hands and they are not concerned its anything than anxiety, than you need to retrain your brain to accept that.

The alternative is you’re living your life in fear. If you try to refocus your energy on the positives in life, than even if you do die suddenly (one hopes not) at least you’ll have experienced joy. Right now your life is consumed by these thoughts.

What are some things you enjoy? What do you like to do for fun or pleasure?
