Post operative painkillers can cause constipation but I'm assuming that you have stopped those now.  Are you taking any other medication that could be causng this? How much water do you drink? Perhaps you need to increase you uptake of liquid and fibre rich foods. Are you trying any laxatives? Did the doctor prescribe anything? I don't understand the last sentence of your post. muscs?

I don't take any painkillers now. Not taking any other medication. Drink about 7 pints of water a day. I have a rich fibre diet but after about a few fork full I feel so bloated. I have tried laxatives. The doctor prescribed a laxatives for me. It like a slime when I do open my bowels

Mucus can be a sign of imflammation in the bowel or an obstruction of some kind. Has the doctor suggested a colonoscopy?

No they suggested nothing but I am going to phone up in the

Morning as my belly is so swollen and sore and hard now so I

Think they need to do something now.

I agree. Good luck and let us know how you get on.
