Cant shake these negative feelings

I feel like I can't be alone with my thoughts without fixating on all these negative ideas. I can't shake the thought that no one is ever going to love me. And even if someone falls in love with me they will leave as soon as someone better comes along. Because there will always be someone smarter, more attractive, more adventurous, and funnier than me. I just got back from a week long business trip and the week went great with very few moments when I felt depressed. Mainly because I was rarely alone the entire week. But the airplane flights were the worst, thank goodness I had window seats because I could lean my head against the wall so no one could see the tears running down my face.

I was put on Fluoxitine two weeks ago and I have yet to feel any better, I know it takes time but now the idea of getting better is upsetting me. I dont want to be alone anymore, I just want to be held and loved and I'm worried the drugs are going to make me content being alone and that they are not going to fix the problem of me being unlovable.

You are not unloveable, even if you don't see it there is always someone out there who loves you for who you are. Take a chance on someone and if it isn't meant to be, it only means that there's someone out there even better just waiting for you. Maybe some extra therapy sessions would help you better than the drugs? Talk to your GP and remember that they have your best interests in heart.

am so sorry to hear about your situation and the feeling of despair that you seem to be experiencing on a daily basis. So many of us are fighting the same exact battle alongside you.  We are all in this together.  So no matter how embarrassed or bad you feel about your own situation, know that there are others out there experiencing the same emotions.  When you hear yourself say, “I am all alone,” it’s just your worried mind trying to sell you a lie.  There’s always someone who can relate to you.  Perhaps you can’timmediately talk to them.

Sometimes you need to be alone, not to be lonely, but to enjoy a little free time just being yourself and finding your way.  In other words, the moments you feel lonely are the moments you may most need to be by yourself.  This is one of life’s cruelest ironies.

We need solitude, because when we’re alone we’re detached from obligations, we don’t need to put on a show, and we can hear our own thoughts and feel what our intuition is telling us.  And the truth is, throughout your life there will be times when the world gets real quiet and the only thing left is the beat of your own heart.  So you’d better learn the sound of it, otherwise you’ll never understand what it’s telling you.

I can tell you from my own life experience that I’ve found love, lost it, found it, lost it and then I found it once again.  But each time what I found was more incredible than the last.  So remember that everyone suffers in life at some point.  Everyone feels lost sometimes.  The key is using your experiences to grow.  When you apply what you’re learning to your future choices and actions, you move forward not backward.  You become stronger and wiser.  It’s not easy, but it’s worth it in the

end.

Hello Nick, Everybody has negative thoughts but it varies how often and to different degrees, it also depends on how you see yourself. Negative thoughts about feeling unloved may stem from childhood or our experiences. I have these thoughts and struggle with my self esteem. You need to work on yourself first as i am guessing you don't really love yourself. Until we can learn to love ourselves nobody can love us either. Do things that you enjoy and meet with friends male and female in a social setting. Talk about your good points, your likes and dislikes keep it light and learn to smile and laugh, people who show confidence in themselves become more attractive to others. Do not focus on your negatives or depression, it is hard but go out with the determination to enjoy yourself. A lot of people put on a different face in public. Do not go out with the intention of looking for love if it happens it will be spontaneous. I do not know your age and if your young you have plenty of time to enjoy life first. I have the added anxiety of dissability now and i meet with groups of people called meet ups. I don't go out with the intention of looking for love but to enjoy my time. I am not able to get out much and as i am not so young i have accepted what will be will be. I think also that it's about being in the right place at the right time and the more opportunities you have the more chances of finding love.

Best wishes.

Elizabeth.
