Sharon,
You have a strong spirit.....take it day by day!
p.s. if you have heel pain, but a folded small towel under the "small of your back" not too thick that you can feel it...my physio toldme about this and it worked for me and some others on this site when I passed the info to them...doesn't hurt to try
Patricia
I will take any help right now I can't do physio cos I my bone are brittle so I will take the help lots of love Sharon
Hi Sharon what wrong with UR back? See a doc for help & pain meds . Loosing sleep could slow down UR healing process.
thr is very hard on our backs especially of we have serious back issues. I have many back issues & both hips done, & a revision done last OCT so I'm with u struggling thru this as well
I hope u r better soon .the pillows is always a mix it up every witch way works.
Tylenol helps and heat packs on the back and a small back pillow will help relax u and help u get to sleep. And UR pain meds. I feel for u I really hate to hear any one sufferig any more than necessary.
this is difficult enough . UR partner is taking good care of u how lucky!
there is an end to the tunnel...the light at the end will get brighter and brighter as the weeks go by. This is major surgery and takes time and a lot of persistence to believe in yourself. U r stronger than u think. Just having the courage for THR says volumes.
I am glad u found this web site too it gives us a way to talk and share. Very important with feeling well. Hope UR better soon!
Hi Sharon
There is light at the end of the tunnel......you are right. You have your husband there to help you......so have I ....we are very lucky in that respect.
I have osteoporosis {brittle bone disease} but that doesnt stop them doing physiotherapy on me. They are physios and know what they are doing and how gentle to be.....There are certainly some exercises you could do but you would need to be told by an expert not by me Does your physio say he cant do anything because of your brittle bones?
I remember my THR.....I have OA in lots of places, kypho scoliosis {C shape curve in your back and a sligh hump at the top} My back is very sore as well...then ostoporosiss and spinal stenosis!!!! I found it hard on my back during the first 6 weeks. Every night the pillows were changed about to try a different position.
I now have a fracture in my hip which isnt going to heal because a bit of bone broke of and moved so will be on crutches the rest of my life. I can cope with that if they can ease the pain......the last thing they tried was a cortisone injection in the top of my leg
That seems to be working.......only about 3 weeks ago but you never know!!!
I'm certainly not pain free but didnt expect to be but it has eased it a lot and I'm sleeping better which is a big help
You keep going, try different things, during the day try distraction......hobbies, relaxation, anything to take your mind of the pain....the more you think about it the more you feel it. This is from personal experience.....I'm not saying you dont have pain but there are waysw of trying to make it less. Night is much harder.......not as easy to distract yourself when you are just lying there.
Keep coming on and teeling us what happening with you, asking questions or just talking
I dont mean to sound as if I'm preaching at you

I want you all to know something me talking about it has made it all so better for me I am taking bits of everything you all are saying and doing my own fitness thing here putting pillows were they need to to go doing a little bit of my own leg movement you can learn a lot from talking and listening to what you all are saying I say Amen to you all
I do so agree with you on that subject, I to would have known half of the things I know now if it was'nt through the lovely people on this forum. So a great big thank you to you all xxxxx if I forget to say this hope all goes well with all of you and have a great Christmas xxxx love to you all xxxx
Hi Sharon
Be careful......I was always told to only do the exercise the medics told me to or approved of.......dont want you to make your brittle bones worse by doing the wrong exercises .....Over there you can get leaflets on exercise for osteoporosis

I hope you do get some sleep from now on.
I couldn't sleep for the first four weeks post op the because I had to sleep on my back with a wedge between my legs making sure I won't cross my legs risking a dislocation of my hip. I usually sleep on my side. After the first initial follow up with my surgeon on my fifth week post op he cleared me to sleep all positions but precaution still in effect.
