I got given iv's for sickness and tramadol & co-codamol for pain which eventually did work. However after bout 24hrs  the pain returned ....A&E have requested ultrasound within 2wks but dont know how long i can suffer this pain, its getting more and more frequent and severe but dont want to annoy A&E again coz they wil think i'm a pest ............HELLLLLLLLLLLLPPPPPPPPPPP!!! Dont know how u guys have lasted so long with the pain coz animals wouldnt b left to suffer as long :x
Maybe your GP would prescribe you some Tramadol and Paracetamol (soluable work quicker) and / or some Codeine if you are very lucky (and you could take Ibuprofen or Diclofenac on top of those on rare occasions aswell), take the hospital paperwork to your GP, unfortunately that's about as good a painkiller / s you are going to get off your GP :? If you are in severe pain then A&E is the best place to go
Total sympathy for your pain, i am a sufferer and now have experienced two attacks of choleocystitis which is awful. Because of this infection they are refusing to remove gall bladder as it needs to settle before hey will operate, unfortuanately every time i have an appointment for my op, i get this infection! I am so down its never ending
I take Tramadol for the pain, I started taking just one 50mg capsule, but on some occasions I need to take two.
The good thing about Tramadol (Zydol) is that if the symptoms have been disturbing your sleep the medication capsules will also help as they make you slightly sleepy when they kick in.
I found that Panadol were useless, but I suppose it all depends where the pain has been referred to, either in the stomach itself or in the area of the back upper left and right.
