I have just agreed t an oblation today for an SVT and am very nerwous, has anyone got any tips or reassurance they can give me.
Hi Susan. If you were born in 1985 then you are a lot younger (and probably healthier!) than me. I had an ablation about 4 years ago now. I was having about six SVT episodes a day beforehand. I have not had a single SVT episode since.
No theatre procedure is nice, but in my opinion the ablation was less stressful and unpleassant than a single SVT episode. You will be in the careful hands of experts so trust them and don't worry. They will probably give you something to relax.
The ablation freed me from the prison that is SVT and made my life much more enjoyable. You will probably feel the same way .
Take care, Ciaran
Hello Susan,
I agree with Ciaran. My ablation for svt was last December, and I was 68. I was also in the hands of experts and I have not had any svt since. Trust the people doing your ablation and try to relax going into it. It is not quite as bad as you think.
Thanks that helps a lot
