:? i have been to doctors today they have told me i have carpal tunnel syndrome which ive never heard of untill today could any one help ive got pains in myleft arm up to my nech and pinsand needles i n my fingers they didn a little test on my arm touch it in differant place and still got the tingles its really getting me down now doc told me i could have injections or surgery dont know what to do but its keeping me awake at night alot
have they offered splints to wear at night? i wore them for a few months at night and it stopped the cts in one hand but not in the other so i had that operated on - i was offered injection but i detest needles and was told injections didn't have a high sucess rate

i have had surgery on both my hands 4 cts in the last 6 month and touch wood the symptoms have gone. I was also offered the injections whilst i was waiting 4 surgery but if im honest they did nothing 4 me. The actual op only took 20 minss at the most and was done under local anasthetic so was able 2 go home the same day and the recovery is not that long but they say the scar will b tender up 2 8 to10 months after surgery. Im pleased i went ahead with the op.
You can buy hand splints from your chemist 2 wear at night that might ease the pain a bit, hope u get things sorted soon.
hi i also suffer from CT in both wrists and have had an injection in one wrist but both are now painful again, i think from bike riding and furniture moving. my doctor told me i would have to have 2 goes of the injection in each wrist before they would do any surgery! also have splints for the night time but still aching during the day!
Hi there, iv just had a 2nd injection in my wrist and 2 b honest had no benifit yet they said it may take up 2 3 months b4 we knoy if it has fully worked. I am a keen mounting bike rider on road and off and they told me its a common prob 4 bike rider im also a chef and work with my hands with lifting and using piping bags. I have had surgery on both wrists 2 years ago and still havin probs, i feel they r just fobbing me of with excuses now. Hope u have better luck take care.
