Just a further question to a previous one I saw my hand surgeon the other day as I have a swelling in the palm of my hand which is quite hard. Surgery was 7 weeks ago He says its nothing to worry about and its mild pillar pain. It hurts hugely!! quite hard though he says its soft What I want to know is is this scar tissue or just swelling that actually will go away? I have been told to massage it and dig into it but that seems to make it worse I have now taken to icing it as it feels like inflammation and am avoiding the deep digging into the palm of my hand Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated Thanks
I have hard lump too and was told this us scar tissue and to massage around 4 times day with E45 cream pressing and pushing as hard as I can tolerate and eventually it should improve . As yet it's still the same after week but will persevere until my next Physio appointment. Hope this helps .
Regards
Pam
Hi Pam thanks for getting back to me. That is exactly what I was tiold to do too. But it has made the swelling bigger and tighter so then I was told to leave off for awhile not by the surgeon but it's still swollen and very tender even though it's nearly 7 weeks since being done. Hope yours gets better very soon. Ali
It took a couple of months but got better all the time and the lump has gone completely
