hi m seeing dr tonight re possible carpel tunnel and i have been told they may or may not do injections or it could possible be an op im type 2 diabetic and have had pins and needles up and down my arm for the past 2 weeks and have had some form of weekness in my hand and wrist for years when the pins and needles are bad my hand doesnt feel like mine can anyone answer if the injections will work or will it be an op i signed of work at mo as the pain is unbearable and i use my hands a lot on the tills and fillng shelves

sorry to hear you are suffering.
ask your Dr for a nerve conductivity test to confirm the diagnosis before you accept any treatment. The test will make sure they are treating the correct condition.Have you been given a splint to wear particularly at night?

I have carpal tunnel in both wrists for a long time and throughout past year have had 3 nerve conductivity tests to monitor the situation and worn splints at night on both wrists. It is only after splinting did not manage to stop the progression that I have decided to go for surgery. In prior years splinting did help improve the situation for periods of time. Good luck with finding a solution and hope you are pain free soon. 
i have got carpel tunnel and had the injection last night dr isnt hopeful of it working but i suppose they have to try he told me to give it 2 weeks and if no better to go back i also have muscle issues due to the injury in my wrist and said hopefully that will correct itself once the carpel tunnel is cured. im a little concerned my blood sugars a up slightly today and my finger are sore and swollen and my hand is very sore to use worse than it was any ideas on that please should i contact the surgery again for advice
Definitely Tracey. I would contact them and perhaps ask what side effects are normal to experience and over what period of time. Do let us know what they say and how you get on.
