Carpool tunnel op

Due for my op Monday terrified .does anyone know if I can have my partner with me while having op and also the numbing needle how painfull is it

I don't know about your partner but I didn't  feel any pain at all, the injections were really painless. My surgeon was very gentle.

The procedure is nothing to worry about at all.

All the the best for Monday.

Hi

i don't think they will let any one else in theatre as it is a sterile environment and they will all be gowned and masked. The local anaesthetic did hurt but for a very short time and quickly forgotten. The staff were all lovely and friendly and chatted to me during the op. which was over very quickly. 5 to 10 minutes at most.

i have been lucky enough to have a successful outcome but there were days afterwards when I felt quite down but they pass and I no longer have pain, or pins and needles disturbing my nights.

good luck for monday

best wishes Elaine

my husband had the surgery.  I staid with him until they took him in for surgery. Your partner can not go in the operating room.  The needle is nothing. it's over with so fast. my husband does not like needles, and he never flinched.

I had op 4 weeks ago , and all went well nurse was with me all the time and recovery not been bad , stitches when take. Out was not fab and scar re opened but healed now any using as much as pos. it went so well I went back Monday for left hand  surgery, this time surgery was painfull also they stopped and injected more stuff into me , again male nurse was fantatasic. Surgeon came out after and spoke tome and hubby and explained what went wrong and told us how compressed nerve was . I know it's only been 2 days but pain awfull , nothing like the first it's tight , the whole arm is aching , is this normal and was I just lucky with the first hand ?
