Cataract Removed & Lens Replacement (Still have Blurred Vision)

Sun.12.Feb.2017 - Had very clear vision, watched nightly new at 11pm, went to bed at 11:30pm.

Mon.13.Feb.2017 - Woke up that morning, unable to see out of right eye, very serious cloudy, thought go away later and vision would return.

Tue.14.Feb.2017 - Called my eye dr explained what was going on, he had me come to office that day. dr results was my right eye had a retina detachment.

Wed.15.Feb.2017 - Was sent to retina specialist, he seen same thing retina detached, set me up for emmidate retina reatachment surgery.

Fri.17.Feb.2017 - (50th Birthday) was having retina reattachment surgery. surgery went well, dr stated a cataract will form threw out healing process and will need removed to be able to see.

Fri.17.Feb - Wed.17.May.2017 - layed on left side continiously for 3months did exactally what dr requested.

Fri.19.May.2017 - Retina Dr checked eye said large cataract had formed setting me up with a cataract specialist.

Wed.31.May.2017 - Cataract Dr removed cataract n put in a new acrylic lens, said in few days i would have clear vision.

Sat.3.June.2017 - Right eye still had blurred cloudy vision.

Mon.19.June.2017 - Seen cataract specialist he said reason for cloudy blurred vision still is that cataract fragments was left eye from first cataract surgery, that i need another surgery to have them removed.

Thu.22.June.2017 - had second surgery to remove left behind cataract fragments, dr said went well i should see very good in couple days.

Sun.25.June.2017 - my right eye that cataract fragments was taken out due to be left in accidently, i still have Blurred & Cloudy Vision, no better same from first cataract surgery.

Any recommendations what is going on, why after cararact surgery n new lens i still have blurred vision??

I am so sorry to learn about the terrible issues which you have had with your vision for the last few months.

Hope that your cloudy and blurry vision clears up very soon. Otherwise, hope that the 2 doctors come up with a good explanation for why that has not happened.

A possible contributing factor to not getting good vision can be just not having the correct prescription of the lens which has been installed in your eye after the cataract surgery. That can be checked easily by seeing if the prescription glasses make your vision better.

How disheartening and frustrating 😡! It does seem ironic that for a surgery which is probably the most performed and has such minimal side effects, there are a whole lot of botched cases. I suppose you could say that it is PRECISELY in the numbers of surgeries that there's going to be a higher # of flops. Ive begun to question, however, if doctors and patients agree on what constitutes a crappy end result.

Although I have no answers, there are people on this site who are a wealth of info!!😜

My cloudy vision was due to a total detachment of my Cornea's Descemet's Membrane.  The clear cornea does have layers.  A technician at the doctors office had the idea to look at my eye with a UBM scan.  And there was my membrane flapping in the wind.  Doctor put a bubble of air into my eye and frorced the membrane back on. Some people have a small detachment of the membrane during or after cataract surgery.  Mone was a full detachment, which is rare.

Your cloudiness could also be from Fuchs Dystrophy.  FuchsFriends has a wonderful forum. I think you have to register with in order to see the FuchsFriends posts.
