Hello ladies,
I have come to you wonderful ladies for help regarding my eyes. Hope you can steer me in the right direction or shed some light upon this.
I had my cataract surgery last year in January and the Dr. who performed the surgery misplaced the lens so now my right eye is extremely sensitive to sunlight and brightness.
The lens is close to my cornea and its rubbing on the cornea which has resulted in a scar on the cornea and I also have some swelling. The lens needs to be readjusted or repositioned.
I don't want to have another surgery to fix this so is there any other option. Has any one of you gone through this type of situation?
I am really upset and so disappointed because I thought that after surgery I would be able to see clearly and everything would be fine.

I am so sorry to read your misfortune, my heart goes out to you, and you have every reason to be upset and disappointed, I am no help, I had cataract surgery and my after surgery is so insignificant compared to other on this site, First of all you are not alone in having surgery that has gone wrong, if you go back and read the letters that are on this site you will see that there are so many different symptoms of after surgery cataract ops. I can fully understand you not wanting to go back for a repair but you have to speak to another consultant for advice and reasurance, there must be something that can be done.
Please let us know what you decide, I will be watching to see if there are any answers and help

Hi Again Pam, yes your eyes are very very important and you must get medical advice and help soon and hopefully from the best eye specialists, again, please will you let us all know the outcome.

sorry you're going thru this. I know how you feel. Same thing happened to me. Surgeon did not make sure my lens was pulled into the capsule so the "arms" of the lens scratched my cornea too. It was awful. Distorted vision, high eye pressure and very painful. I went to another surgeon for a second opinion since mine could not figure out what was wrong with me. The second surgeon went in and pulled it back into place. I have refractive error from the first surgeon, but it's much better than it was. High eye pressure is gone and so is the pain. My vision is not distorted now, but I still will not see like I should.
you really should go and see another surgeon to fix this. The longer you wait, the more damage will occur.
