I had cataract surgery on my right dominant eye 3 days ago with the Clareon Vivity IOL. I had asked my Eye Dr. to give me reading close and intermediate vision as a priority over distance. I can now see 8" away and read my cell and computer without any eyeglasses! However my distance is only readable about 8 feet away for text on the TV. Far distance is blurry. When I get the 2nd eye done in 2 weeks with the Vivity, I am now thinking of targeting more for intermediate and distance if possible and hoping I still will be able to read without glasses. Previously I had 3 different eyeglasses; one for reading, one for computer and one for distance. I’m not sure what exactly Surgeon targeted, but the Vivity Lens is labeled +22.5D
My impressions with the Vivity:
-Whiter - Linen colored walls look white
-Less contrast against background-
-Change in colors. A geranium flower that looks red with other eye looks bright pink with Vivity Lens. And salmon colored geranium flower looks light pink with Vivity lens. (Maybe due to the blue light filtering?)
-Have not noticed any glare or halos
It seems my dominant eye with the Vivity lens is taking over my vision. But to put less strain while my eye heals, I removed right lens from my reading glasses and using them to read though I can see without them!
Will update my progress again soon..
