well last night i had to go causality as my legs gavehalf way up my stairs and i caught my hand on my bainster and the causaltiy male nurse looked at me as if i was a retard when i saidi had fibro plus other problems oh that shouldnt make you collapse he said does anyone else get the feeling that half the nhs just dont care ??about us fibro sufferes
Yep it's not them in pain so who cares
yes i do i wouldnt mention it because they think your hypercondriact or thats the impression i got ,
my left knee just gives way for no reason no warning no pain just buckles .
why did you go to a/e did you hurt your hand .?
for some reason i dont bruise i can bang myself give my self terriable sick feeling and even cry with the pain but no bruise, even when i broke my nose and bone in my hand hardly any bruising just a sligth tinge of green ,
iv also noticed that my leg and underarm hair dosent grow back like it used to , its a worry ,but i am just not keen on going to the doctors , because they dont take us seriously .so like so many others with this stupid condition i just try not to worry about it. hope you feel better soon .
Yes definitely even in Australia...as silly as it sounds..it's good to know this lack of Fibro knowledge within the medical profession is the same in other countries...we really need to have a voice..
Hello Cherl,
I am sorry to hear what happened to you. But I was reading an article by a Doctor the other day, and he said it is such a complex condition, which nobody knows a lot about, that it is unrealistic to expect an ER Doctor to understand. He has to have such a broad range of knowledge, particularly about life threatening conditions, that it would be impossible to have that deep knowledge of conditions such as Fibro, His advice was, unless life threatening or a definite broken bone, or something like that, it is best to go to the GP who knows you well, and is still probably learning about the condition, along with you. Ooh that is a long and rambling sentence - sorry! I hope you get my point tho. That does not excuse rudeness or bad attitude among Medical staff tho'. It did make me think about it from a different viewpoint, not that they don't care - they just don't know!
Take care, Anne
I don't mention it now as i find their body language and perhaps something that is said or the care I receive make the situation more stressful; not only at the time but it affects me for weeks afterwards too. I find as well that it can cloud a person's judgement when assessing you and something important may be missed.
what you say i also found to be true , its like when you smoke every thing is linked to that no matter whats wrong with you ,its because you smoke,or because your over weight thats another ,if your fibro sufferer its the same .oh i wouldnt worry its more than likely your fibro,
now hurry up and leave iv got real sick people to see, well thats how it feels to me .
YEPPP!!
All the time.
Yes this happens to me often when I'm walking ,I trip over my own feet and I'm very unstable on uneven ground . people laugh at me as if I do it's for a joke ! My knees have permanent cuts and bruises on them , I'm not sure if it's the pain that makes me do this or my muscles just stop working ,it's very frustrating and I totally sympathize with you
