I'm a novice when it comes to learning about anxiety. And I see the term CBT. Ca n someone explain what this means please. I apologize for my ignorance. Thanks!!
Its challenging the fears/symptoms/bad thoughts/negativety with a rationale way of thing to hopefully dismantle them. it teaches proper rationale , using heirarchy if thinking kind of thing..but if you dont use it all the time and arent committed to it won't help much. It gives you knowledge really.just awareness. It helps half the people who go for cbt. It also depends on who is working with you and how experienced they are and if you use it with other treatments options. You can get a cbt workbook too to see if it resonates with you. They even have cbt apps you can try.
I did CBT in 2014 but it wasn't for me as i am not able to express myself verbally , i can write down how i feel but talk it , you talk about your emotions , thoughts , feelings and how you can make them into positive thoughts and feelings , etc , i recommend anyone to try it as it has helped a lot of people , i will depend on who your CBT Therapist is like as you do need a therapist / client relationship that works well for you both , i have done Art Therapy which helped me better but that is not available in some NHS local healthcare counties , give it a try if you are up to it as only you will know if it works for you as we are all individual , take care xx

Cognitive Behavoural (sp) Therapy. Tries to think about your behaviours and beliefs and rationalise appropriate responses. It tries to develop coping strategies for these bevhaviours and feelings with practical steps you can take.
Didn't do anything for me I found it patronising and not much use on the irrational illness that is anxiety. However it does work for some people.
I did find Cognitive Analytical Therapy much more helpful.
