Celiac disease and perimenopause....get tested!

hello ladies i just wanted to warn all of you ladies out there who are struggling with the symptoms of perimenopause and memopause, please get tested for celiac disease or sensitivity! I am waiting on my results now and when i did research on gluten issues i was blown away by the symptoms. It mirrors alot of the perimenopausal symptoms drs think we are making up and it can cause early menopause. Most people probably wont have the disease or gluten sensitivity but it doesnt hurt to get tested to see. Your life and mental well being may be saved in the process.

This is great advice! My husband and daughter are both in the process of being diagnosed with Celiac (they’ve had the blood work that came back positive, awaiting endoscopies/biopsies). It runs in my husband’s family, but not in mine. Anyway, the more I’ve been researching Celiac disease, the more I think I may ask my doctor for the blood test, as well. Stats indicate that it’s likely 1:100 people have Celiac disease but most are undiagnosed.

Exactly!! It doesnt hurt to be tested and if you are diagnosed with it at least you can treat it and start feeling better! Its definitely something every woman with severe pms or perimenopause symptoms should take into consideration.
