hi everyone. You can get some useful information on this website. As I've already said my granddaughter has cerebral palsy. Where we live in Saudi Arabia we have no specialist centers for children with cp. we are therefore taking her to the Bobath Centre in London for a 4 week slot next month. I've heard lots of positive feedback about the centre. Has anyone actually tried it with their kids? Any feedback welcome please. Thanks
Hiii
Could you please give me the name of this center
Hi Muna,
How was the therapy at the Bobath Centre, can you share your thoughts?
Hello Grabner, we went to Bobath for a 4 week course of treatment, I had already heard great things about this centre but it was really good. The therapists there are excellent, they don't oush the kids rather let them get to know them before attempting any therapy. This was a great help as from past experience the therapists have pushed Khadija into therapy forcefully so she got paranoid and hated it. She bonded so well with her therapist and during the four weeks we were there made do wider able progress. We are hoping to go back for 12 weeks next time as even Bibath feel that she will gain greater benefit from this. Also the Centre is very flexible and accommodating with regard to appointment times. A wonderful place. Only downside we were self funding as we don't live in the UK so don't qualify for NHS assistance as do some of the patients there. However when it comes to your nearest and dearest you can't out a price on their recovery and we co sided it money very well spent, if you are thinking about going to Bobath I would highly recommend it. Good luck and please let us know how you get on.
Thank you so much for your feedback Muna! We are doing the Adeli therapy in Slovakia, but we were thinking of maybe trying something else. Will definitely check out their website!
My warmest wishes to you, Khadija and your family!
Hello Grabner, please let me know how you got on in Slovakia with the Adeli therapy. Do you get any Imptovements from it? We were thinking about stem cell therapy but it's still not guaranteed and there's a lot of controversy surrounding it. After Bobath Khadija is making good progress and for us any improvement is a milestone. Ok she's still not walking but at least she sits for short spells so we feel it was definitely worthwhile. Good luck and please keep us posted. But hanks for your I terest.
Hello ma'am, I got to know that there are very few facilities for children with cerebral palsy in saudi arabia.. I'm a pediatric physiotherapist from india with bobath certification. Let me know if there is any child in need of treatment. 4weeks is very less for recovery so it is good if some one can do therapy at own home. Thankyou
