I have a cervical spine problem. my MRI report says
1. Right Paracenratl Extrusion of C5-6 disc is compressing the cord and C6 nerve root on Right side
2. Posterocentral Protrusion of c3-4 and c4-5 cord; nerve roots are not compressed
My doc is asking me to get the surgery done i need to understand and take an opinion from others before i go through surgery. i have not much pain or very mild pain in my neck can somebody please let me know is it [possible to get cured without any surgery.
Before you agree to any sort of surgery.Mkae sure you get other opinins first.And make sure that the surgeon has a god track record.Its very serious stugg back surgery.I have herntard discs prolapsed discs and one touching the nerve,I am seeing a Physio that is too young to have any real experience.Im having Acupuncture.Its the same Phsio doing it and i now have to see a Neuro specialist as the pain is too much and i cant function.It took 10 months just to get an Mri done.There are no guarantes with backs.You just hope that there choice is correct and it works.

This is great for you may i ask how long has this been going on for ie years months before i reply just need to know time scale.
i exactly dont know from when the problem started. i just got my MRI done since i felt i should get it done as i got a neck pain which lasted for more than 3 days for the first time in my life. now i feel perfectly alright with no pain in neck. i never had weakness or numbness also i have equal sensation in my palms.
i got the MRI done just 2 days(2 Dec 2015) back. that is when i got to know i have cervical spine problem.
You are right to question however this doctor must have a very good short list. If you feel you are managing your pain that is good but sometimes having surgery on the early on stage is better because it stops more damage being generated. Every surgery anybody has always carrys risks
Infection to damage to nerve. So its important to ask questions if you are still unsure have a chat with your gp. They will be able to give more details to you or the gp can contact your surgeon to get a update.
