This is such a difficult and confusing time as many of my symptoms related to CFS also fee like they could be symptoms related to COVID-19. This past week, I've been experiencing a headache along with swollen/sore lymph nodes in my neck. I've experienced symptoms like these before and have always "written them off" as symptoms due to CFS. Last week, I experienced low grade fever and chills, but I'm no longer experiencing those symptoms, thank goodness! Just wondering how everyone else is doing out there with this pandemic going on right now. Would love to hear from you guys during this very unsettling time :-) KPD
Hi KPD
I have been experiencing almost the exact same symptoms and as you say would have just ‘written them off’. I have sometimes thought that cfs could mask the signs of other illnesses. The the only thing out of the ordinary would be a cough. I guess Cfs suffers live daily with symptoms that would cause most folks go running off back to bed.
My symptoms are mostly constant except for a lot of stress! What I mostly struggle with is how to get shopped as I am self isolating and all on line options are sold out.
It’s really worrying times, as like you say our symptoms can be very similar initially- apart from the couch & that’s usually when it’s taken hold. I’ve had a sore throat for days & symptoms worse. I’ve found out I’m super sensitive to ascorbic acid (vitamin C) bad tummy cramps & excessive loo visits where the world fell out of my bottom
sorry for the TMI! But best way to explain! (Also water infection with pain in kidneys) Not much fun
I’ve found another brand with Is PH neutral- not tried it yet as it’s not arrived. In the mean time I’m having a slice of lemon in hot water a few times a day. I’m keeping an eye on my temperature as I think that’s a real tell tale sign & not the usual for us M.E sufferers. Stay safe everyone ![]()
Hi Chris14silv
I agree that CFS could mask the signs of other illnesses. I guess that could mean that our immune symptoms are working over time, maybe a good thing. I’m taking lots of zinc and Vitamin C right now just to boost my immune system even more. Thanks for your comment. Stay safe and healthy ;-)KPD
Hi Solsikke
What are your symptoms right now? Yes, stress is definitely making my symptoms worse. Do you have anyone who can do some shopping for you while isolating? KPD
Yes also suffering from the symptoms you have described..no cough or high temperature; not quite sure if its down to the ME/CFS or fybromyagia or something else. I have also been suffering with constant anxiety and panic attacks but then given the situation i suppose its to be expected

Hi Pet
Sorry to hear about your bad tummy cramps and excessive loo visits. That’s no fun! Great idea to slice lemon in hot water and drink that a few times daily in place of the Vitamin C. Hope that helps your sore throat. I guess keeping a watch on the temperature is the best thing we can do at this point. Hope you feel better soon. Thanks for sharing you comment. KPD
Hi Dawn,
I guess many of us are in the same boat right now. Sorry to hear about your anxiety. I also am experiencing lots of anxiety right now, which we know makes things worse. Last night, I had trouble completing my yawns…I know so strange, right? I used to get that once in a while when I was a little girl and my dad always said it’s bc you’re over-tired. Now it’s just plain scary with COVID-19. Hope you can find something to relieve your anxieties. I’m trying hard to get out for a walk each day. Feel better

Headache and enormous fatigue. The shops themselves are facing the problems and are helping bring out stuff to high risk customers. These times see the best as well as the worst in people.
Anxiety is real hard to avoid, given our risk and the limited help due to pressure on the health services. I try for a more fatalistic attitude - what will happen will happen. Don’t borrow trouble. It helps between actual attacks, and to drag myself out of them.
Your symptoms sound similar to mine! Agree that in times like these we see both the best as well as the worst in people! Feel better ![]()
Good point! I try to develop a more fatalistic attitude. KPD
im actually quite scared i work in the hospital and i already feel quite ill most days i can’t image how i would be if i actually get the virus
.
we should be in the high risk group .
Oh no, Chris! I’m sure working in a hospital setting has to be hard on you. Up until a few weeks ago, I was teaching small kids. I could have easily picked something up from one of them. Please take care of yourself! KPD
