How many have tried it?
I have been trying this tea...and I have been trying to remember it nightly.
Its amazing to feel relaxed...even if it only lasts a little bit.
I always try to have it an hour before bed....this herb is supposed to have calming tendencies...and it does....especially you feel like YOU are doing something nice for yourself and YOUR ANXIETY.
I used to roll my eyes at the mention of anything herbal because I didn't
believe in it...I do now.
If you haven't tried it...try it.
I don't like the taste of it. Have you tried valerian tea? That's heavy-duty stuff, but completely natural.
Does the Valerian smell as bad as the PILLS?
I can't handle the pill smell.
AND I paid alot for the bottle of pills!
Totally agree with you,Missy. During the day when anxiety hits, and of course...every night. The tea that is made from the flowers and nothing else in it works best for me.
It makes me tired sometimes so I use it first thing in the morning to prevent anxiety and it works well : )
I make it very strong.. I use about 4-8 teabags and just leave it in a glass jar in the fridge with alittle bit of milk and drink it if I'm starting to feel anxious. Also it's great before you go to bed.
But I would also reccomend rescue remedy. It's the best supplement for immediate anxiet relief.. It has saved me many times.
yes misssy I too recommend it to people i have been taking it for three months now and yes i sleep like a baby and it keeps me calm sometimes i drink it in the day too.
I prefer it when it cools down to luke warm rather than drinking it hot it tastes better to me
There are chamomile caps you can get, Misssy. I've got some coming for occasional insomnia, I believe it's the herb with a standardized extract. There are also caps with just the herb. Apigenin is supposedly the active ingredient.
People should take care if they're allergic to ragweed, though I've read posts by people that are allergic to ragweed and are able to use chamomile.
There was a fellow that tried a number of herbal remedies for insomnia and listed the pros and cons of each, I'll try to find it again. Chamomile came out on top as I remember.
Oh, yes. It smells and tastes disgusting. But valerian is where valium got its name from, as it's so powerful - if you can stomach it lol
BTW Misssy, have you seen my reply to you in the eye disorders forum? Please look at it aand tell me what you think. love T
I'm drinking a cup right now I always have a few cups a day it does relax me for a bit too :-)
whew..I put an extra bag in mine last night and I shouldn't have....it really did knock me on my butt and I had to get up earlyu today!
No I have to go to the Eye Forum....I just woke up....I can't believe you up again 2 hours ago!
Why would you tell me to drink a tea that TASTES digusting? I will try it thou if it is that strong...lol
Thats a really good idea for stress Heat....I may do that...but it does make me tired..so I could be sleeping all day!
What is rescue remedy? I'm not going to have time to look it up..have an appt. early this a.m. and then i will forget to look it up...so write back and remind me to look this up?
Or tell me what this is?
Thank you Heat.
That list would be awesome..you don't sleep either ADE...you were up with tess and I last night too...lol...you guys need more tea!
Hi Tess,
Would I (in 1st trim) be able to try Valerian?
Missy,
I was not as dedicated to drinking it every night as I should. But, I've heard it work.
