Chances of a false negative with pcr test?

if i got a swab done 4 days after the initial outbreak, how likely is a false negative?

so i got a rash and a swollen lymph node a week ago. i just had an antibody test and it came back negative. its been 9 months since ive had sex, when i thought i had an initial outbreak. im so confused right now–both times my doctors said it was herpes based on a visual diagnosis but both tests came back negative (first time was a pcr test, this time just an antibody test because the rash had cleared up too much). should i get more testing done? i just dont know what to think at this point and its stressing me out

i got a blood pcr test not a swab, came back negative, a month later i went to my gyno for an igg antibody test & it came back positive. i would say if your antibody test came back negative youre probably okay, as they are very reliable

thank you for the response. my doctor told me some people never develop antibodies to hsv even if they have it. is this true?
