Hi everyone,
I was diagnosed with Crohns in February of this year but wasn't medicated for it. I have had a colonoscopy which came back showing nothing but I've still had constant daily pain, loose bowel movements, being sick for no reason, ulcers and various other symptoms over the last few months but today I went to see my consultant and he said he was unsure now what it was and was going to give me colofac to try and look at FODMAP diet. I've tried altering my diet before and even tried cutting out gluten but it didn't male the pain go away before. On Friday I have an Ng Tube scan and if it shows nothing I'm being discharged! I just feel so frustrated as I'm bothered with pain almost every day amongst other symptoms. Anyone else had a change in Diagnosis but eventually found out it was actually crohns all along??
Hi, what made him say u had crohns in the first place do u know?
I had a similar experience and was told they couldn't find anything and discharged me, I felt it was all in my mind. Consequently I didn't go to see anyone for years. I have been diagnosed with crohns since then, then told possibly vasculitis of the intestines, then crohns. I have had 2 re sections, many tests, and still ulcers keep appearing in my small intestine. It is all very frustrating for me. You need to ensure that you make it clear you have problems and ask for a second opinion. Hope things go well.
Hi Jobs, initially last November they found something on a scan and I was in hospital for 8 days. They put on my notes then that it was crohns. I didn't find out till Feb when I went to dental hospital for extreme mouth ulcers and she said oh it's probably your crohns and I hadn't been told as there had been a miscommunication. My consultant said oh yes sorry it's crohns, you should have been told. Then we've been going along with crohns for ages due to rectal bleeding, pains etc etc until now
Sorry I meant Jo!!! Auto correct on phone
