My doctor started me on pramipexole and I was fine had pains but was finally sleeping better then the doctor doubled the dose and I was slurring my words and couldn't concentrate. So I explained so now he's took me off them and now I'm on tramadol just when I need them. Well now Iv come to a complete stand still can't function spent all day in bed and I'm in so much pain..just not sure what to do..can anyone help.

Hello Dana, what exactly is your disease

pramipexol is a medicine that slows down the messages from the brain to the muscles, tramadol is for relief of severe pain and can cause the symptoms you have experienced

please can you tell me more about your disease and symptoms

Hi..yes I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia about 3 months ago. For a quite a few years I have been suffering with muscle pain and achey bones..burning sensations . stabbing pains ..I have IBS I have severe neck pain vertigo dizziness and very bad fatigue that can bring on depression. I also have a under active thyroid and also vitamin d deficiency..I was put on pramipexole about a 8weeks ago..

Hi Dana I find when uping doses it can make you dizzy and slurred speech. The medication most likely causes these side effects but at lower doses you don't notice.  If the does was doubled for instance you only want to up it a bit and get used to it.

Hi mabel I agree totally  I have a understanding doctor I need to go back and have a chat I found on the lower dose it improved my sleep and my anxiousness so that alone was worth it but friends around me said the tablets slowed me down but hey the choice is a slowed down me or a stay in bed me no contest.

Hello Dana, you poor thing, I know exactly what you are going through, I have polymyalgia rheumatica which is very similar to fibromyalgia, the exhaustion is overwhelming but will eventually pass, but it does take time, this in itself and the disease will slow you down like trying to walk through water, but keep taking the pain killers, as for your thyroid, sounds like you have an over intake of fluoride, change your toothpaste to a no flouride one and stop drinking tea which contains flouride, do you live in a hard water area, if so that contains too much flouride so drink bottled water instead, the flouride can give you IBS symptoms, I have the same problem, I can't tolerate the flouride so in certain areas I have to drink bottled water, this too will slow you down, give it a try and let me know how you get on

Hi Louise thank you your so kind..I will try the changes you suggested and tell you how I get on..to be honest I will try anything for some relief. I'm new to this forum and it's amazing. People around you don't fully understand so it's good to talk to someone like yourself who understands how frustrating and painful it is.

No one only sufferers themselves can understand, my daughter in laws' mother did not really have much sympathy for me until she was recently diagnosed with polymyalgia, the fatigue is making her very depressed, yes we can all empathise with that
