Hi all, I have been on Citalopram for a couple of years now and they are great except when I get a brand change. Have found Generics UK suit me best but they have apparently been taken over by Mylan. I have now been given tablets from Bristol laboratories which have made me feel awful in the past. The pharmacist assures me that they are the same but I have my doubts. Anyone have any suggestions that might help relieve my anxiety before it sets in again !
Hi david-yes, ive got to agree with you! The pill is suposed to be oval shaped. Right I have an old box off pills-these ones made me sick everyday, so I stopped for a couple of days-got to say it was the worst thing Iever did-then found and old packet that made me ok. Im now on repeat prescription and only go to the same chemist to get the pills. I have had this pill in round form and oval shape form and i could almost say retangular form. If I were you, and your not feling exactly (relaxed) then perhaps see your doctor and discuss the situation with them-i dont know though-apparently they are all supposed to be the same , but Ive definately found a difference between chemists. You need to do what is best for you! Even if the gp you see states they are all the same, yet your side effects differ, you have to talk to them-I dont want to make you more anxious, but perhaps something else is going on? id speak to your doctor about how you are feeling . You have a right to manage and feel ok. Dont suspect something and worry about it-ask and take the help you deserve!
Thanks for the response. I was told by Boots that these are the same but I have also e-mailed the new manufacturer to see if the brands are indeed linked. I will let you know how I get on
Hello all, managed to find some Generics UK brand tablets at my local Tesco - what a relief ! Have since found out that they are just being re-branded as Mylan so should hopefully be able to continue without any unnecessary side effects from the Bristol brand. I have even given the ok for Bristol to contact me so as they can find out why their pills have this effect. And just to confirm my thoughts, a chap I work with suffers exactly the same problem when he has a brand change which makes me feel better, knowing that it isn't just me.
Happy New Year to all readers - wishing you all an anxiety free 2010
