I've been taking 10mg clitlpram for 9 days and then up to 20mg for four weeks and I'm just not getting any better I feel so down full of anxiety crying all the time and feel so sick so I want to come off them and go back on sertaline I used to be on them before on 50mg so I know they work but really worried about changing them over?
I’ve taken both citalopram and sertraline. Personally I found citalopram faster to work than sertraline with less side effects . I was very sick on sertraline. Anyway they say it can take 6-8 weeks to get a full effect with any anti depressant . Also maybe you need to up dose .... you could go to 30 or 40 mg . When I was on 40 mg citalopram I felt wonderful it cured my anxiety and low mood at the time that was several years ago. I’m currently om sertraline for a second episode and have been on around 8 weeks ... only noticing the beginning of some positive effects now . Maybe give it a few more weeks or up dose ? And then change if still not working . X
