I have had one ankle fused due to Charcot Marie Tooth. It was two months ago and can still barely put any weight on it in some positions. It has been recast three times and I will be transferring to the boot, hopefully, in two weeks. I would appreciate any feedback from anyone else who has been through this.
This was performed at Epsom Hospital by two surgeons as I also had my heel realigned (broken and reset), Achilles tendon lengthened and a dorsiflexion osteotomy first metatarsal.
I had a bilateral tendon transfer performed many years ago at the National Hospital, Queens Square. I wonder why only my right ankle has failed over the years.
