Chat Room???

Hi everyone!

Not sure how I got onto this site ( I'm on the PMR/GCA site ), but I am enjoying it.  It's nice to have a laugh.  Even with aches and pains it's good to keep one's humour.

Constance

Hi Constance,

I only stumbled on this site quite recently. I think it is becoming quite addictive. The people are generally very supportive and kind.

You are right it is good to be able to have a laugh especially when you have aches and pains. I have had fibro for majority of my life but was not diagnosed until five years ago. For the majority of my life the symptoms did not really affect me. In fact I had an extremely high pain tolerance, my doctor explained that this was due to having fibro from a very early age and my brain had learnt to ignore pain. As I age however it became a lot harder to ignore and other symptoms such as fibro fog is much more extreme. PMR sounds as if it is just as bad as fibro.

Cheers

PMR is different, exceedingly painful but, with the right medicines, managable.  Also, with luck, it can disappear in 2 to x years - one lives in hope (I've already had it 3 1/2 years!!).  Fibro is more difficult to manage, I believe, because the experts can't seem to agree on treatment.

However, onwards and upwards, what?!

Welcome Constance,

I do hope you find this forum comforting and instructive as well as amusing and interesting.

Wishing you a cure very soon as 3 1/2 years does seem a long , long time

George

3 1/2  years isn't sooo long.  One of our experts on the PMR site has had it for 10 years!!

Constance

Oh dear! What a gloomy thought, especially when you will have suffered quite enough already. I still wish you an early, from today that is, resolution even if I am now better informed.

Hi Constance

I love your positive attitude! It is amazing how much healing power we have from within.

Cheers
