I have been having this pressure in my chest for almost a week. Went to er had EKG, chest X-ray an bloodwork done. They all came back fine. Doctor said heart looks good. I'm not sure if this is like acid reflex, heart burn or fibromyalgia. Any suggestions?
Hi Amy 1 possibility it could be is costochondritis, which people with fibro can sometimes suffer from. I was taken to A&E with chest pain I thought I was having a heart attack, I had bloods done ecg, everything came back ok. I am no dr but what you are experiencing could be down to fibro. especially with you having tests everything coming back ok. google costochondritis. take care
Try not to worry and stay calm as if you worry it will make things worse, easier said than done I know but focus your mind on something else other than what your experiencing and it will soon pass take care gentle hugs thinking of you
I have had it for a week now. I know what your going through an it's not fun. Mine is more like a pressure, went to er an got all test done an said my heart was fine. Layin around helps me but that's hard to do when you 2 little ones. Hope you feel better soon an if anyone knows anything we can do to help with this pain please let us know. Thanks ladies.
Thank heaven for the lovely helpful people on here. I've been getting this lately and was worrying it might be heart problems. Been at the doctors so much lately I just couldnt face another session of trying to explain and getting nowhere fast. I'll google this and see if it matches what I'm feeling too. I honestly don't know what I'd do without the support and guidance of you wonderful fellow sufferers. xxx
Hi loxie Any problems with your chest, should always be invesigated by your gp 1st. I think your gp is 1st port of call as a gp may want tests done.I can understand you not wanting to go and see them. what about a chat on the phone with them 1st if you dont want to see them.and see what they say. they may say they want to see and send for you tests. some people that have fibro also have somehing called costochondritis its inflamation of the cartlidge that connects ribs to the breat bone. pain described as aching burning stabbing. My advice is speak or see a gp take care gentle hugs
Thanks Kaz, I will book another appointment in any case but having followed up the above comments by reading up on costochondritis, it does sound awfully like the discomfort I have. It's not sharp or radiating down the arm, just in the chest like someone thumped me there. I dont have any breathlessness either, even when I'm exhausted physically I dont get any angina like pain or difficulty breathing. At least I'm a bit more reassured til I get back to the GP, good to note that in most cases costochondritis dissipates after a while - just sick and tired of new symptoms popping up like weeds in the grass at the moment.
