Hi. My name is Sebastian. I've been going through a stressful time. School starting, moving out.
About 1 1/2 months ago I started to have a discomfort in my chest. It felt like I couldn't get a deep breath. It's gradually gotten worse. Not the stress is so bad that I've had acid reflux and it's making my asthma go crazy. So I get even more stressed. Some moments I don't feel it. But most of the time it's constant. Went to the ER and they said it was stress and you needed to follow up with a GP. do you think if they give me a anti anxiety, that I would feel better. And possibly medicine for my acid reflux?
Hi Sebastian l am not a fan of anxiety medication as they can be very addictive however l think therapy is a better way to go as it can help you better control ànxiety.Go to your doctor and get a referral and try to manage your stress through relaxation techniques mindfulness etc which you can find on YouTube.Practice it several times a day.
Hi Sebastian
Try to manage your stress, get a Therapist and practice relaxation, jog, exercise, workout, meditate, imagine a scenery that relaxes you. The mind is very powerful it can help us when in need. (as a escape)👍Yeah you need medication for acid reflux but they will do more damage than good. Always read the prescription paper or Google the side effects and look at rare dangerous side effects too. Those can be permanent. I would go with something natural but be cautious about those too. Read the labels. Nothing in excess. Good Luck🙏The Acid Reflux is caused by Anxiety.
Go with what your gp tells you, everybody is different, over the years I have used meds , councillors , therapy, natural remedies , hypnotherapy. Meds may be needed short term but your gp should know what would be the best treatment to start with. Reasurance that this is stress/ anxiety hopefully will help. It is treatable, a little scary though when symptoms have us thinking it's something worse. Lots of people on this site with similar symptoms to you, hope you relate and puts your mind at rest. See gp, sounds like you may benefit fro cbt and some relaxation techniques, lots of tips here also, very helpfull.❤️
