Chest tightness and stabbing pain for four months.

Hello,

I am 29, 6 ft 7 and 198 lbs.

I've been experiencing chest pain and tightness for the last three months on a constant bases.

It started 4 months ago, where I had a series of massive adrenal stress reactions and chest pains. These would last a few days before fading and I would be unable to sleep and had a very strange ultra wired feeling. I thought, at the time, I was having a reaction to the corticosteroid nasal spray i was using, but i don't have much to back that theory up except timing.

I quit using the corticosteroid and the stress and pain hit a high and plateaued (three weeks in) without ever fully going away since. This was roughly three months ago.

My parents convinced me it was probably anxiety, even though i have never experienced it to such a degree and there were no major stresses in my life. But going to the doctor turned up normal blood-work, blood-pressure, and no palpitations.

The wired feeling and the insomnia left after a few more weeks but the general tightness and discomfort is constant. It is often accompanied by a light to medium stabbing pain somewhere near my middle chest, on either side of the sternum.

The feeling is constant, even when i am calm and happy, it can go up and down a little bit but never fades. In hearing more about my situation my parents want me now to see a doctor for chest issues, as we have a history in our family:

My uncle had a heart attack at 32 and died of another heart attack in his 60s.

My other uncle on the other side of the family had Pericarditis.

My grandmother died of a heart attack in her late 60s.

I had a great uncle who had Paricardial Cysts.

I'll be seeing a doctor as soon as i can, but I was hoping to hear some opinions here as well.

Thanks you very much for your time, and for responding to all these questions in general. It seems like a wonderful service.
