So I'm 25 female and I have cystic fibroses although touch wood ive not suffered too much with it yet. Last week I strted to feel like a chest infection was coming on as I was a little more phlegmy and every a couple of times a day I get a quick stabbing pain in my right side of my chest then it will go then it will happen again I told my doctor and he said it was my rib cage I also suffer from really ba anxiety I think I'm dying all the time so when I get this chest pain I always think the worst please can anyone put my mind at rest at all???
stress and anxiety in conjunction with a known medical condition can make that condition seem worse,,, all kinds of symptoms can manifest themselves through stress.. sometimes knowing that you are not alone can eleviate the effects of stress and therefore make your other condition seem less intense.. if you can manage your CF..then kinda concentrate on reducing your feelings of stress by doing what you are doing .. communicating.. very best wishes
Thank you reg
I went to hospital last night and was there for five hours waitig to be seen in the end I just came home and went to a walk in centre today she told me all my obbs are fine so looks like it's just my Chet infection giving me jip! But she said my lungs are clear but may be a little inflamed I can cope with that! Anyone any idea what I can do for the pain I forgot to ask
xxx thanks again
hi again kirsty well done for managing this far hospitals can be a nightmare but also very comforting .. seems you have a mild infection that will respond to anti biotics in the main but breathing exercises are kinda important dont let the infection nget hold through not exercising.. and clearing infected material from your lung cavities .. i suggest ibuprofen as an analgesic both for pain relief and for inflamation control . but,, as in all cases you should be guided by a doctors advice again best wishes and dont get disheartened
