so .. my boyfriend developed a rash a few days ago.. i touched it to see if it was bumpy etc . he complained about it being sore.. we went to the hospital and he got diagnosed with shingles... ive NEVER had chickenpox and am worried that i am going to get them from touching his rash. theres no fluid i dont think.. but im freaking out. im 18 so its late to get chickenpox .. can i get chickenpox from touching just the rash of someone who has shingles ?????
shingles is contagious by the fluid in the rash. once they have broken and scabbed over he shouldnt be contagious anymore. but yes if you touched the rash and came into contact with the fluid. you can get chicken pox. chicken pox isnt the end of the world. so calm down,
i know . but i have health anxiety thats why im so concerned i guess. i have a phobia of medications etc. they havent turned into blisters yet tho. i touched them day 1 or 2 that the rash appeared
im sure youll be fine. try to not worry about it
as far as i can remember there isnt any medication to take for chicken pox, maybe just creams to help. but im not sure, so could be wrong
