Chilly

Seems I'm always chilly. Does anyone else have this problem. Now the weather here hasn't been very springlike still only rangeing from the 40's to just starting to be in the early 60's . My house is kept at a constant 68 degrees but seems I can never get warm. I don't have any other signs or symptons of an infection and feel pretty good, just cant seem to stay warm.

Hiya Susan

I am having the same thing, I was never one for turning the heating on but I seem to have it on about 3 times a day, I just turned it on, I think it is down to not being able to move as fast or being able to get comfy enough to feel warm, I'm only 31 so it's nothing to do with age! It could be the blood thinning tablet aswell.

Weather glorious in South Wales and I am 60 so have prob of being too warm at times  !

Thanks for the input Stephen. It's mostly my hands and feet. I just kicked my heat up a bit. Could also be I'm a bit worn down from lack of good sleep and the weather is a bit gloomy with rain on the way.

Hi Susan,

Good question - for me there's a kinda a lag here: its just getting warmer in Devon, UK and it took me about 48 hours longer than most folk to feel warmer - effects of wot was quite a major op we both had.

Think its gonna be all right

Think it's just an excuse to get your wife to give you extra cuddles Mic!

Yes! I've always been one who feels cold anyway but I do notice that I feel chill even though I'm 6months post-op, as you say in toes and fingers especially. Before the op I was freezing all the time and somehow I've nevr quite warmed up.  But started doing more intensive core muscle exercise now and the physio says this should help.

There's nothing worse than being cold so I hope you warm up soon

warm wishes (corn, corn!)

Hi I feel the same way at times! It is part and parcel of wretched arthritis! My knee is swollen as well!I also think it might have something to do with blood thinners?! Regards Amanda

I think its definitely the blood thinners.  I have stopped taking them now as was told no need to take them any longer and I am back to normal.  My husband who had a quadruple heart bypass  2 years ago has to take them all the time and his legs and feet are always cold now but otherwise in good health.

H i Susan, yes I'm the same but I think its down to taking asprin every morning to thin the blood. My wife is sitting in shorts, and I'm sitting here in my dressing gown and socks. (not a nice sight)

I must look a fright, haha. Hubby is out and about in jeans and tee and,I'm here in fluffy slippers, flannel lounge pants, a fleece top and flannel robe. Oh how stylish lol

Us Hippies are such a smart , sexy lot ,!

I think good quality sleep like you mentioned is overlooked and is one of the reasons for this chill factor.  I wake up cold if I've dropped off through much needed rest, one big complaint I've got with this life changing op.

I'm very warm tonight....free warm up hugs available to hippies!

I have been dealing with extreme chills too. Five weeks post op and 41 years. I will get the shivers and need a heating pad to get warm. I am going to the doctor tomorrow about this. Blood thinners makes sense but I have stopped taking them now. Is anyone dealing with headaches?

same thing here,,,, just piled on more quilts (sitting on the sofa) that felt warm and cozy and then also I could feel my body relax --- I tend to always be barefoot around the house, but did wear heavy socks for a few weeks

we have yet to get above 40, but the snow is almost gone so hoping by next week the warm air will come smile
