I did a pap smear and results came back inconclusive due to inflammation but HPV negative, so my gyn suspected I might have chlamydia and gave me a recipe for a single dose of azithromycin 1g just in case while I wait for my STD/STI test results to come out. My question is: a single dose of azythromycin is really enough to treat chlamydia? I know I shouldn't be doubting my doctor's judgment BUT I just want to make sure it is gone :(
