chronic abdominal pain, constant diareah and bleeding. constant bloating and wind.
Hi, please could someone help? ive been to hospital on multiple occasions with, bleeding, mucus diareah, left severe abdo pain and constant bloating and wind and pain in lower stomach. currently on morphine, voltarol and other pain killers. no matter how many times i end up in hospital, all my scans come back clear, even had camera tests up stomach and bowels but too constipated to see up bowel. sick of being told that scans are clear yet liver, kidney tests show signs of disease/failure, yet all hospital seems to do is help me cope with pain then send me home again. not sure what to do or ask nowadays. what is it and what can i do. this has severly affected my life and am nearly always doubled over in pain drinking oralmorph and in tears.
Hi Gavin
so sorry to hear about your pain, discomfort and frustration. Have they given you a colonoscopy yet?
Hi bugs, yeah had colonoscopy and due anotherone in a week or so. they took some samples as found some lesions/lumps but not had a definitive answer. could be colitis, then no its not colitis. a chance it could be crohns. then it may be diverticolitis, and then bleeding started and they seem to change mind again. to say i have been messed about is a joke really. Had half of my pancreas removed 3 years ago and ever since i seem to have gradually got worse and worse. because of levels of morphine i am on, i now have chronic narcotic bowel disorder. that is only thing doctors seem to be able to agree on.
sorry if i have gone on but i have really got to the end of my tether now.
Gavin, I can only begin to imagine your frustration! You say that when they tried to look at the bowel with a camera (presumably that was the colonoscopy) they couldn't see much because you were so constipated. Did they not give you something the few days before to purge your bowel? May I ask, are you in the UK?
Hope your ok get well soon x
hi, yes i had a bowel prep for 2 days before the colonoscopy. picolax powder. next time i have colonoscopy they are going to try a different bowel prep. yes in u.k and allways had such a good time with our NHS untill last 3-4 years.
thanks millie and me too :-)
