Chronic Anal Itching

For the past 2 years I have had recurrent itching on the skin between my buttocks and anus. The issue comes and goes, but the itching can be very severe. even though I dont scratch it because I know that makes it worse, the area also gets incredibly sore at times.

I have seen several doctors, and been prescribed mostly Hydrocortisone cream, steroid creams, antibiotics and worm tablets. While I have had some temporary relief, the problem keeps coming back.

I am wondering if anyone out there has had similar issues and how they resolved them ?

Did your itch ever go away? if so, how did you get rid of it. I have had an itch for over a year now. I have had a colonoscopy, defecography, fluroscopy. I’m having an MRI done with contrast this Thursday. if they can’t find anything out after that I will have a biopsy. I am honestly not doing well mentally. it’s really getting me down.
