27 year old male
I have struggled with chronic pain for 10 years - daily headaches, left chest pain, upper back pain, shoulder pain, digestive pain, etc.
While i have not been diagnosed with anxiety, i have frequent panic attacks & constant fear of this never-ending pain causing serious damage or death.
Last week, an endoscopy diagnosed with me acid reflux and a small hiatal hernia. I have begun making small changes to manage this.
Does anything have experience with the daily left chest and arm pain? Countless tests have ruled out heart issues.
Also, can reflux / HHernia cause this sharp, burning pain in my chest, back, and shoulder?
I have my 2nd child due in 2 months and am desperate to find relief. Someone please help me.
yes, acid reflux and hiatal hernia can often radiate pain to the back shoulders and chest. I have occasional gastritis and it radiates right to my back . my mother had a hiatal hernia which radiated to the chest. She thought she had a heart problem but she did not. So you have to be really careful what you eat so that you don’t aggravate it. Did they give you any ideas on what you should and should not eat? were you given any medication for the acid reflux?
If not, you can look online to find foods that are acidic which you should avoid in those that are alkaline which you should eat. Try to eat five or six very small meals a day rather than three large ones. Drink plenty of fluids especially water, avoid food such as soda pop, junk food, red meat, dairy products,
foods that you should eat are vegetables, like Broccoli, spinach, sweet potato, and many more., egg whites , lean meats, Broccoli, spinach, sweet potato, and many more., some fruits are OK but I avoid oranges due to the acidity. Bananas are great as well as avocados, apples, pears,.
looks like your heart is fine. Remember there are many things that can cause your symptoms besides heart issues. Gastritis, acid reflux, hiatal hernia, Bad gas, and many times the one thing that causes all of these issues is stress and anxiety.! That’s exactly why I got gastritis. So do you things that relax your mind and body. Take a nice warm bath, listen to soothing music or Nature Sounds, take a nice walk,. Try not to take life too seriously. you’re going to be OK and I’m glad that you started making changes. It will definitely be worth it!
