This started over three years ago. I was edging with a full bladder and suddenly there was this pain in my penis that hasn't gone away since. At first I thought it was something wrong with my bladder. I've gone to a doctor and urologist, where they tested for infections and did an ultrasound on my bladder but they found nothing. We also tried some antibiotics and Flomax but neither seemed to do anything. At my last visit they suggested the next step would be going into my urethra with a camera which I wasn't comfortable with, and decided I could try and live with it and hope it goes away. Unfortunately it still has not gone away and I am experiencing this mild burning pain at all times. I'm not experiencing any other noticeable symptoms however, apart from some dribbling after urination. I'm 29 years old, and I'm suspecting that this is an issue with my prostate. I know I should go back to the doctors but I don't want to waste the time and money without a better understanding of how to describe my issues to them, especially if it turns out to be something that won't really be treatable. I recently started taking a saw palmetto supplement too, since I read it could possibly help with easing inflammation, but so far haven't noticed much difference.
3 things come to mind:
- You need this checked out and not rely on ways to alleviate the symptoms;
- You may have a problem with the bladder or prostate; and
- To rule out the bladder as the problem you need the camera up the penis investigation. This looks carefully at the bladder and will reveal if there is one or more problems. I am due to have this myself later this month. Here’s a tip: do as I did - request a general anaesthetic. Many folk do not specifically ask for a general and by default get a weaker anaesthetic.
Good luck
