Hi. I am reading so many different stories about diagnosing chronic pancreatitis. I had gastric issues since 2014. Gastro doctors were treating with ppi omeperazole, protonix. Seemed to do the trick. On Nov 2, 2016 I was at work and became violently sick. Stomach became upset and I started vomiting everywhere. The pain got very bad. I drove myself home. I was still vomiting into Nov 3. Still had the horrible burning gnawing pain. Went to the hospital saw the doctor. Had ct scan and ultrasound. Normal like all other scans. Amylase and lipase slightly elevated. But not enough to cause doctor alarm. I proceeded to my gas to doctor and he doubled the ppi dose. Didn't help. While crying at work a co worker suggested I see his cousin who is a gastro doctor. He tried different meds not much difference. He did an endoscopy gastritis and polyps seen from ppi use. At my insistence the followed up with 24 hour bravo and ph study. Nothing of note. Another ultrasound normal liver, gallbladder, and bike ducts. Portion visualized pancreas normal. Another ct scan on May 8 2017 revealed small bowel changes but pancreas, liver, adrenal were normal. Barium swallow was normal. My old gastro dumped me and I got a new gastro who today finally did a fecal elastase test. I am worried and scared. Pain is terrible. Does anyone here have a story like mine? How do you manage your symptoms? Do doctors try to dismiss your pain and tell you it's stress? I see this is a condition that is incurable and only gets worse. Did you pain change as time passed? Mine is spreading toward my back. It's under my right run and center of stomach.
It's on your right side? Did they do a hida scan?
I get exactly like you, in fact I've woken up this morning with it, it starts with an unbearable aching in my back then I get a tummy ache , I've had all the tests done at hospital they couldn't find anything , they gave me kolanticon gel which really helps .
