Have had this condition nearly two months, everytime I think it's easing it comes back, started with urinary problems, burning urine and pain in penis, started cipro and tolterodine, the tolteridine has helped urine issues but still getting pain in pubic area, Anus and perineum and now starting to get pain in lower back and hips, been on cipro for five weeks but doc says as it's non bacterial chronic prostatitis it don't always help, I can't take ibuprofen either as allergic so is there anything else to help with inflammation and is anyone else having these symptoms
Prostatitis becomes chronic after three months, oral antibiotics have a chance to work before it becomes chronic.
Ray- your Dr needs to do a Ct scan to see if there is anything that may be causing this. I had some similarities and it turned out to be bladder stones that caused long prostatitis. Kidney stones can cause this as well. You might get another Dr's opinion. Good luck

Hello I'm in the same boat 3 days, 3 bad days in that order with awful lower back pain off all medication on saw palmetto from holland and Barrett just sucking it up, I'm over 3 months now so chronic, seeing consultant on Thursday to check way forward. On a good day today so got pie eyed 👌

doctor told me it not chronic to 6 month
Hi Barry thanks for reply, my back today and hips have been awful, nothing seems to relieve it except a hot water bottle that takes edge off, it's like a sharp ache that seems to burn too, was yours like that, I will try saw palmetto, thanks very much

Sounds exactly like mine, iv had it since February- I'm seeing the consultant this week I'll ask him about back and pelvis pain and what causes it and I'll post back

well mate i had flu start of feb for two weeks then this come on pain in willy not be albe to fuller go for a wee slow pee and like a block up my bum took antibiotic for 8 weeks can pee fine now just left with pain up bum and hips and joints see 2 uloglist first one on nhs he said it prostatisus not sure which one told me to take pain killers so when private she said it was bactier prostatisus and prostate as gone down just a bit lumpie and that could take 2 month to go back to normal how did your start mate

No problem Ray, I think it is helping I do still get flare ups but they don't seem as bad
Hi Barry thanks for getting back to me, when you had the hip and lower back pain was it continuous as mine has hardly had a let up in two days and I have pubic area hurting in between
