Hello everyone!

I am 25 years and I am from Poland.

For at least 7 months I suffer on chronic prostatitis. Actually I don’t know how to cure it.

Firstly I would like to write something about the symptoms:

-          Weak stream of the urine

-          The urine stream is not full (I mean I pee by 2-3 shots)

-          I have problems with my erection – it is not full and I have problems with keeping it

-          I have stomach ache under my navel (the most intensive is just above the penis), sometimes testicles ache and my gland ache (after ejaculation)

-          Despite I sleep really well I am so tired and have headaches mostly everyday

About 2 years ago I went to a proctologist because of some problems with hemorrhoids. I remember doctor asking me if I have some problems with urination - for him prostate was not OK. I didn’t recognized any changes in peeing so my answer was just “no”.

In December 2016 I noticed some changes in my urine stream.

I checked my urine in December. No bacteria, good color, it is perfect.

I checked my sperm in February. No bacteria.

My doctor (or doctors because now I am being treated by another one who is a really good specialist – he has treated many people with strange mans problems. He was in America where he studied a lot about prostate and he brought a method to Poland which helps with prostatitis) wanted me to take levofloxacin – no effects; cefuroximum – no effects; azithromycin – no effects; nitroxolinum – no effects; also there were anti-inflammatory suppositories and some mans pills with sunflower seed oil or saw palmetto, etc – no effects.

Maybe something about this magic method from USA by which I have beed treated for last month.

Well this method involves direct administration of the antibiotic to the gland under the control of USG. To be simpler – my gland had been needled 3 times (in weekly intervals). The antibiotic was administered in 3-4 different places of my gland. What kind of antibiotic it was – I don’t know but I will get to know. And yes, it hurt But as I know the effectiveness of this method was 100% cured patients.

Two days after first administration it was great! I woke up at night with full erection, just like that! I was peeing better and I am still peeing better but….thats all. It didn’t work completely. I still have same problems. I just pee a little bit better. But my stomach hurts, my gland hurts, I have weak urine stream and I have enough problems with erection not to have sex.

What can I do? Do you have any ideas what kind of prostatitis it is? What kind of medicine can be helpful? My life completely changed because of this thing.

Sorry about your problems. Is the doctor you are seeing a board certified urologist? A number of docs seem to specialize in "miracle cures" for prostatitis, but I'm still skeptical from what I've read. 

My only advice at this point is to be very careful with the antibitotics. It sounds like you've been on several courses already, without success, and you really don't want to overdue antibiotics for many reasons including building up a resistance for when you really need them. 

Prostatitis can be a chronic on and off condition, but at least with me it tended to get better as I got older. I understand you must be very frustrated, but seven months in "prostatitis time" isn't that long and time in and of itself can be a healer. 

For symptomatic relief I found sitz baths helpful. Just fill a shallow tub with water as hot as you can stand, and sit in it for 10-20 minutes.

Jimjames, thanks for your help.

The doctor is certfied urologist (for about 20 years?) and I really trust him but because of my frustration I am also looking for a help somewhere else, like here.

I havent been taking the antibiotics for long time (not more than 20 days). But as I wrote no any positive effects during this treatment and a month after taking those pills.

Well you can get prostayitis at any age what you have is bacteria pprostatitis.  It will never go away but it can be controled.  I have a friend that is 32  he got it when he was 17.  He is under doctors care and his last flare up was a year ago.  The medicane that the doctor is giving you is a very strong antibiotic.  That shot is the only way to get it in the prostate.  Let the doctor help you find what you need.  And at your age don't let any doctor tell you that getting rid of some of your prostate will help  it wont.  Ken  ( Polish to )

Are you sure it is bacteria prostatitis? There is no bacteria found in the prostate and as I read there are no problems with erection in bacteria prostatitis.

I had 3 bacterias when I was a child. Actually when I was a baby bacause I got it after I was born, in hospital. My doctor also said that it is not connected anyway if it was completely cured.

Ok  they you must likely have chronic prostatitis.  Miss the the part where you had that check.  That is a diffirent story  That is what I have sometimes.  Pain in groin slow steam and my penis goes numb.  Look on the internet and you will find what you have to do.  My doctor told me that when the symtem come up not to have sex for at lest a week.  because it will iratate the prostate.  It also could be something your eating or drinking  There is a list that you have to stay away from that will hurt the bladder and the prostate.  Email me anytime  Ken

Everytime I was able to have sex while have a pain in my gland it was a relief. Pain was gone for a couple hours after ejaculation.

I will talk with my doctor about the diet but I have been always eaten very well. I seldom eat sweets or animal fats or spicy food + I do not drink alcohol, definitely prefer water.

My doctor still tells me that it is bacterial prostatitis despite of negative results of sperm check. I am confused

As I mentioned, prostatitis sometimes waxes and wanes, and I found that the symptons sometimes subside all on their own, without any intervention. Not surprisingly, because prostatitis is an inflammation and the body has its own healing mechanisms. 

You mentioned relief after having sex. This is not uncommon. Too little sex or too much sex can often make prostatitis worse. Especially bad is being aroused repeatedly without an ejaculation. You will have to find your own "sweet spot" as to what is much or too little in terms of orgasm frequency. It doesn't have to be couple sex, of course, you can always take the matter "in hand", as they say.

Do you mean Irritable Bowel Syndrome? Nope, I do not think so.

I had diarrhea a few times in my life. But then it was virus or sth. Sometimes I feel a pouring in the stomach but I guess like everybody. Why are you asking? My girlfriend has ulcerative colitis or sth in common

It can be very confusing. if your doctor told you that it is that is why there was some kind of relief after.  Keep checking with your doctor  Ken

I hope any bigger intervention will not be needed.

For now I have o month break from any antibiotics. I take only pills with oil or saw palmetto. I know the gland needs to work so ejaculation has to be. And sometimes I take the matter "in hand" because of erection problems.

Tomorrow I am going on a music festival for a couple days - I hope I will not have any bigger problems.

Make sure to drink adequate fluids, and avoid the usual chemical irritants if you can, such as alcohol and caffeine and physical irritants such as bicycle seats and prolonged sitting. . And try to relax, as the influence of stress cannot be discounted.
