I’ve had hives for a year and a half ... been to an allergist/immunologist since 2017. I’ve been taking multiple antihistamines, Xolair injections and cyclosporine. I’ve been recording my breakouts. I am a teacher and have summers off... Interesting ... I was hive free last summer 2017... as soon as I returned to school I broke out in hives and again this summer ... this summer I continued with Xolair and cyclosporine... no hives since early June... so happy to have my skin back. Then, last week I went into my classroom for three hours and started to feel itchy .... the next morning I had 20 + horrible hives.... I was devastated ...anyone have this experience!
I cant identify why mine show up but i have a question for you.. Do you take antihistamines and cyclosporine with the xolair injections?? i have been off all antihistamines while taking xolair until recently and for some reason I get he hives everyday ..Nothing like they used to be but this is how they started out in the beginning so i am very worried i may wake up with tons again and angioedema.. It seems with you it may be something in your classroom..But this is one tough disease to figure out .. once i think i know why they come back when i eliminate what i thought was the cause.. Good Luck to you.. so sorry ..
I stopped taking antihistamines this summer when I was hive free... I continued with Xolair and cyclosporine ... when I broke out with hives on 8/2 I put myself back on an antihistamine routine... after 8/2 I didn’t have any additional hives until yesterday 8/6 when I went back into my classroom for several hours. The antihistamines help to control the iching, but not the breakout of the hives. This whole thing blows my mind.
Your answer is in the classroom as that seems the only place you get breakouts .. hope you can identify the problem
