Cigarette withdrawals

I have been a smoker for five years, me and my girlfriend decided to quit together so far we are on our 6th day, she is doing way better than me hands down. I am getting random anxiety spells I am certain that I have recovered from anxiety, I am just getting thoughts now i.e what if this choice brings back my anxiety, usually cigarettes calm me down when I am stressed out from work or just family related issues. This is my first time quiting so I have no idea if this is normal I constantly think about cigarettes all-day long, I keep chewing gum and focus on distracting myself but i get this random burst of anxiety over the fact that I am not smoking anymore and it scares me.

Warm Regards,

Forge ahead. I wish i quit long ago!  Keep busy, drink water..do anything dont give yourself to a cigareete. My worst regret is just that. Push through it. Please push through it. Easier now then later.  Eat a banana....Buy celery. Take six stalks and juice it amd drink it. It helps clear the toxins. An infar red  suana is great too. Some health soas have these saunas. Phountain has them. There are tricks. Go on line read them. But dont turn backwards.  Drink calming teas, lots of water, take a multi vitamin. Love yourself. What a glorious gift you are giving yourself. I wish i would have quit long ago good luck. This one you need to tell the anxiety bully to butt out. Haha i made a pun.

I go to sea baths 5 times a week its a coping mechanism for my stress related issues, i have been a sauna junkie for over 15 years.

I take my daily supplements, mega b complex, fish oil, 5-htp, gaba, iron, zinc loads more :D its just the weird habits i cant get over, like after I eat something nice I instantly think about a cigarette, I have been craving lots of junk food lately taking my anger out on them or when I have a coffee it feels weird just having a coffee on its own. the mind is indeed very complex and tricky.

You have a long journey six days is the beginning of a long road that can be quite distressing.

I used to smoke in my teens to mid twenties, about sxty a day and the only way of stopping is to stop cold

You can try the kits given by your GP or purchase various types of withdrawal medication that you feel may help.

I used Fishemans Friends losenges, original flavour they seemed to mimic the taste of nicotine and tar etc. i would also use Mighty Imp sweets  they also had a very strong taste that seemed to divert my need for cigarettes.

One problem we all seem to have is we get a bad cough and bring up tar and nicotine through from lungs and throat, the Nicotine dumbs down hairs the clean the air to lungs, they eventually try and clean themselves, you will start bring soot up from the lungs, this will also mark your tounge  and it will affect your taste. Hence the losenges, they also help the cough

There is little to be frightened it will take time although it will be ok.

It took me seven years to clear out my lungs and chest

Good Luck
