Hi Joshua
Do you know who the manufacturer is on the packet? Also is there a leaflet in the pack?
There are 3 main places to get the information you want
1. Your prescribing doctor/health professional (is this where you received the conflicting information?)
2. The information from the manufacturer's leaflet (should be in the box, if not you can get it online but also you should ask your pharmacist)
3. Calling the company's information line and asking.
The information online for citalopram is a little different depending on the dose you're on and the manufacturer, so if you can provide this I can direct you to the correct information. Please remember that the information would be based on the experience known overall with the medicine, and you may still have a different experience.
Cheers

Hi Joshua, It takes about 6-8 wks before Citalopram stabilises in the body. Is it the side effects your worried about or the time it takes to have effect.
Im just really struggling to sleep at the minute im so tired but asoon as i try to sleep i get tingling and my mind starts running wild
Then all day the next day i worry about going to bed
Hi Joshua, Can i ask what time of the day you take your meds as this can make a difference. Taking them at night will make it difficult to sleep, this is what i was doing to start with. My GP said it was better to take them in the morning, I usually take mine early morning about 7am and this really helped me. I do sleep about 6/ 7 hours now, before i was insomniac. Bear with it. Try not to be on computer late at night as this can stimulate you to stay awake. Try reading, or deep breathing to help you relax. My mind runs wild too i find it hard to switch off. Hope this helps. I am here most days so if you need to talk that's fine with me.
Thanks for the info Elizabeth
I take them at 6.30 am
Im working away from home in two week blocks at the minute so thats making matters worse
Talking to people on here really helps me
Feeling a lot better today x
Hi Josh it took about 6 weeks for me to really to feel the effects and things just got easier after that really helped me with my anxiety and depression. Keep it up you will go through the bad first as your body is getting used it and i know what you mean about not sleeping, definetly wise to take it in the mornings. I had to go from 20mg to 10mg as was really sensitive to the drug. I dont know if you exercise much but would encourage it as that really helps me sleep as i just knacker myself out on the bike .
Hope this helps and if you want to chat drop me a message.
