Citalopram and nausea??

I've recently had my meds changed (venlafaxine xr to Citalopram) after a breakdown.

The crisis team monitored me and I had the usual side effects/withdrawal they were bad but I got through it.

Im on day 8 taking 40mg Citalopram only but I'm waking on a morning feeling nauseous right through to early evening, feel so down, 😢

I've always taken Citalopram 'caplets' whilst introducing but for the last 7 days I've had Accord Core tablets......I know this may sound daft but could these be causing the nausea & sickness?? X

Hi Karen,

I'm no expert & don't take Accord Core is it another name for Sertraline? I found this info that might be helpful to you.

It states that Nausea is the most common (as per below & will pass in time.

4.8 Undesirable effects Nausea is the most common undesirable effect. In the treatment of social anxiety disorder, sexual dysfunction (ejaculation failure) in men occurred in 14% for sertraline vs 0% in placebo. These undesirable effects are dose dependent and are often transient in nature with continued treatment.

Hope it helps.
