Hi all
I've been back to my G.P this week. He upped my citalopram to 40mg and he as also given me Temazepam to help with the sleeping problems.
I just want to know if anybody else has been given this combination of medication, and if so how did it go and are there any strange side effects.
yes, i took both, for a week or so but only 10mg of citalopram with the temazepam. The temazepam was OK, but i reacted to teh citalopram badly. But if u r on 40 mg already, u obviously don't? cos I never got that far! before coming off them.
The temazepam is usually only taken at night, then citalopram taken in morning, so doctors told me the 2 don't affect each other. I took temazepam for 2 weeks then as soon as it stopped the insomnia came back, so it worked OK in the short term only for me.
If u haven't already, try magnesium, relaxation excercises, meditation etc as well, so that when the temazepam runs out u have some thing to fall back on.
Hi madmouse
I've also been on 40mg of Citalopram and Temazepam. I didn't get any strange side-effects from either, luckily. They worked well together - the citalopram helped me get out of bed in the morning and made being alive less painful. The temazepam helped get me to sleep at night. Definately worth giving a go. And if they don't suit you, go back to your GP and they'll be happy to try another combination.
Take each day at a time, and soon you'll be feeling so much better :D
Hi to you both and thanks for replying.
I have only taken about four sleeping tablets and they worked well and i had no strange side effects. They are great for helping me to drop off and i only take them when i have had a few restless nights.
Thanks again and i hope everything is going well for you.
